Trip continued around the Ring of Hook, all the way down to the Lighthouse (oldest in UK & Ireland) and round to Tintern Abbey, stopping at various points of interest along the way.

It's clear the tourist season hasn't started yet, although I did see some confused looking Germans (by numberplate) :blobthinkingeyes:

This suits me - it's super quiet, and you have time to absorb the stunning scenery :neocat_glasses:

Looking down the landscaped hill at New Ross. Apparently a notable building and gardens stood here, until it burned down relatively recently. They've done a good job creating a new public space to replace it.
Looking out to see (approximately South) at Hook Lighthouse. In the foreground some dark rock, in the mid ground some azure sea and at the top, a bright blue sky
Looking up the tower of Tintern Abbey, a medieval monastery. The roof is modern (wood) and the building has been heavily altered - it was turned into a stately home, which explains the fireplace. Nevertheless, you can see the outlines of the arches which led into the nave and chancel, and the original floor supports. Various doorways (now leading to thin air) are also visible
A shipwreck on a beach - a rusting hulk with an intact hull, but missing propeller. This is the Port Lairge (Waterford) which was a dredger, for the city of the same name. It was used up until the late 80s, apparently.
